Ski Island is located on the Banana River near Port Canaveral. It is just minutes away from Kelly Park, Harbortown Marina, the locks, and the Barge Canal. On the GPS it is located @ 28.411313, -80.641545.
Group for boaters that frequent Bird Island. Bird Island is about 5 miles south of the 520 bridge on the Banana Rivers west side @ 28 16.396N 080 39.384W

Anchored Boats and Mooring in Brevard County... law changes soon?
Jim Waymer of Florida today wrote the following article today. I thought it would start some good discussions. I have seen many boats and it looks like the 528, 520, and Pineda bridges are new free marinas these days..

One good wave over the bow and you will sink with a bowrider. Steve has very good advice.
Well Curtis I think your wife was right. A bow rider is a nice little ski boat for inland waters but I believe it is asking too much of it to run 60 miles across the Gulf Stream to a foreign land. Have you ever run any of the inlets on Floridas east…

Yeah, from Whitmore Lake area too. We first chatted on Facebook when I tried to start a Central Florida Boating Group. Looks like yours took off great. I am looking forward to Ski Island in a couple of weeks. If it says that it is full, are we still allowed to attend?
