- I posted some of the required items for a charter business on the "Charter"
group. There are a lot or requirements, and yes many thousands of dollars
and a lot of red-tape to get going. Just when you think that you are set, they
go and change things too!

- $$$$$$ + $$$$$$. Thats what I just did, with my boat, the "Wile E. Coyote".
I have my corporate papers, and county license , my commercial registration, my FWC boat fishing license, and my NOAA HMS Charter boat permit done. I Have the marine survey on the boat Tomorrow, and will then have the insurance bound 2-3 days after that, when he gets his paperwork in. I am in the process of getting my Captains license, and until I take my test, I'll have some freelance licensed Captains along for the ride. About $250 per month in cost just for legalities, plus the boat, gear, fuel, bait, maintance, etc.,. They sure make it tough to do what we love, and be legal! Now all I need is clients.

We haven't heard anything. Please keep an eye out, but the chances of getting the boat back don't look good. I hear that there have been a lot of problems at Lee Wenner with theft, so everyone be careful if you put in or dock there.
Plastic tank. Fiberglass would deteriorate and I believe that aluminum oxidizes. Not iron oxide rust but oxidation nonetheless. Boats made after 1994 are supposed to have ethanol compatible gas tanks. Do you agree? Do you replace the water separatio…
