Are you boating or trailering down?

Sounds like fun. Maybe a possibility. We have been to Pennekamp a lot. I was looking at a goggle map and where is the channel to get in and out of the campground?

Pennekamp State Park is on the southwest edge of Largo Sound, which is on the eastern, or ocean side of Key Largo. The state park has a boat ramp, boat basin, and a store with limited fishing and camping supplies. If you are in the boat basin at the park and look to the south you will see a marked channel. Follow this channel until it hits a larger channel (don't worry, you will know you are there when you see all the boat traffic). If you turn southwest (right) into this larger channel and follow it, you will end up in the Atlantic four miles due west of the Cannon Patch reef which is excellent for snorkeling. If you follow the larger channel northeast (left turn coming out of the Pennekamp channel) you will almost immediately be in Largo Sound. Follow the channel markers for about a mile and a half and look for a very large red buoy to your left along the shoreline. This marks the entry to Adam's cut which will take you from Largo ound into Blackwater Sound. The cut is a neat ride with some very interesting houses backing right up onto the cut.

We are trailering down and I'm not sure how you get in or out. Here is the address 101551 Overseas Highway, Key Largo, FL 33037-4596 (Key Largo Kampground & Marina).

I have some fresh water boating friends in Orlando.I will pass your original post to them. In case they left the local area. Which is probably the case. Others should do the same, maybe we can cover the state at least. good luck, Rob

We haven't heard anything. Please keep an eye out, but the chances of getting the boat back don't look good. I hear that there have been a lot of problems at Lee Wenner with theft, so everyone be careful if you put in or dock there.

Plastic tank. Fiberglass would deteriorate and I believe that aluminum oxidizes. Not iron oxide rust but oxidation nonetheless. Boats made after 1994 are supposed to have ethanol compatible gas tanks. Do you agree? Do you replace the water separatio…

Henry, Saw your boat heading in at the port Wednesday. We had been out to 8A and points north of there, not a lot of luck, Cuda and sharks. Was looking to see how you did Wednesday for comparison, I hope your report doesnt depress me too much. Tim
