I have 2 grooves in my hullas a result of exposed nail heads at the turkey creek ramp. Where can i get advice on repairing them?

Is this the side of the hull, above the waterline? Is the boat Gel-Coated, and has the 'groove' penetrated
the Gel-Coat?

I have an expensive boat wrap on my boat, but I would likely still use my fenders even if I did'nt, unless
the docks were using the verticle bumpers that contacted my rubrail.

Any way you can display a pic? There are a lot of questions about this type of repair. First do you want to have a finish that would appear it never happened? Or do you just want to fill it in and get it close?

There is an independant glass repair guy at Boaters Exchange in Rockledge, FL. His name is Bobby Russo. He can give you some advice. Tell him Paul Berube gave you his name. He can be reached at (321) 480-6262. The name of his ship is Abaco Boat Repair.

ok so you have two gouges caused by a screw on your hull so theres minimal impact damage so I would say the damage is only what you can see, second you need to find out if the grove goes into the fiberglass or just in the gel coat, third like i believe someone stated above or below the water line but since your asking about it i dont think its of issue you want it fixed (reason being said, if below water line and left alone you run the risk of water damage causing more problems).

well with little info thats all I can say at the time about it.

I am a licensed glass and gel coat repair company that offers mobile estimates and you can find me on the web just type fiberglass repair melbourne florida or go to our web site.

I have some fresh water boating friends in Orlando.I will pass your original post to them. In case they left the local area. Which is probably the case. Others should do the same, maybe we can cover the state at least. good luck, Rob

We haven't heard anything. Please keep an eye out, but the chances of getting the boat back don't look good. I hear that there have been a lot of problems at Lee Wenner with theft, so everyone be careful if you put in or dock there.

Plastic tank. Fiberglass would deteriorate and I believe that aluminum oxidizes. Not iron oxide rust but oxidation nonetheless. Boats made after 1994 are supposed to have ethanol compatible gas tanks. Do you agree? Do you replace the water separatio…

Henry, Saw your boat heading in at the port Wednesday. We had been out to 8A and points north of there, not a lot of luck, Cuda and sharks. Was looking to see how you did Wednesday for comparison, I hope your report doesnt depress me too much. Tim
