| Description: | This urban district river park is situated on both sides of SR 402 at the Max Brewer Causeway from the east end of the draw bridge to the security gates for Kennedy Space Center. The 36.6-acre park provides convenient access to the Indian River for fishing, water sports, sunbathing and shuttle viewing. Recreational amenities include eleven picnic shelters, a barbeque grill, restrooms, a boardwalk, a 100 fishing dock, and a 6-lane lighted boat ramp with paved parking for 96 cars and 46 boat trailer spaces. Both residents and tourists alike convene at this site for windsurfing, sailing, jet-skiing, water skiing, canoeing and boating. |

This used to be a nice park and ramp. The damage done during Tropical Storm Fay (along with years of poor
maintance) is still creating a log-jam on weekends, with only 1 slipway in normal use. At the rate at which repairs are going on this ramp, it could be a few more years before its finished. The "beach" along the north side of the
causeway is a nice place for several types of watersports. I put my flats boat in there if the ramp is too backed up,
and have no problems, with the firm sand and shell bottom stretching all allong the beach. Many a large Redfish
has been caught while shore fishing along this beach area.

We haven't heard anything. Please keep an eye out, but the chances of getting the boat back don't look good. I hear that there have been a lot of problems at Lee Wenner with theft, so everyone be careful if you put in or dock there.
Plastic tank. Fiberglass would deteriorate and I believe that aluminum oxidizes. Not iron oxide rust but oxidation nonetheless. Boats made after 1994 are supposed to have ethanol compatible gas tanks. Do you agree? Do you replace the water separatio…
